Sidhant Mohapatra of Bhadrak and Smaraki Mohanty of Kendrapara bagged titles in the open and girls categories of the Orissa State Under-13 Chess Championship, which concluded at Centurion University of Information & Technology, Jatni today.
Top seed Sidhant finished with nine points from as many rounds. Jajpur boy Rajesh Santy finished runner-up with seven points. In the girls` category, second seed Smaraki secured the top position with six points from seven rounds. Akankhya Kabi (Bhubaneswar) became runner-up with 5.5 points.
Top three finishers in open category and top two in girls` section qualified to represent Orissa in the 25th National Under-13 Chess Championship to be held at Kulachi Hansraj Model School Ashok Vihar, New Delhi from October 1 to 10.
